Nicholas L. Smith
I am a PhD student in economics at Emory University, working in applied microeconomics. My research sits at the intersection of health and labor economics, and I use causal inference methods to study risky behaviors and the policies that shape them.
Current projects examine male entry into female-dominated occupations and the health consequences of sports gambling legalization.
I am a 2026–2027 American Institute for Boys and Men Graduate Research Fellow. Before Emory, I earned a BBA in economics and finance from the University of Georgia.
